Personal injury settlement from insurance company

Legal Q&ACategory: Personal InjuryPersonal injury settlement from insurance company

My question is regarding whether or not the settlement that was told is appropriate for the injury I suffered.

About a year ago or so, I suffered an injury which caused my back to go bad. I had to go through a few procedures in order for my back to stop hurting. I got a call from the insurance company and told me that I would be receiving about 20,000 dollars due to my injury. Is this reasonable for the injury I suffered or do I have a right to receive more?

Hi,
Welcome to Legal.com!
I know that you’re right to not get into too much detail (personal info) on a public forum but, there is no way anyone could answer this question without having medical knowledge and knowledge of your personal situation, including income and needs.
While I appreciate your visiting our forum, and want you to feel welcome here, this is absolutely a question that has to go to a personal injury attorney who is knowledgeable and experienced in the type of injury you’ve suffered (e.g., auto accident, dog bite, slip and fall, medical malpractice).
Please click Legal.com’s Find-a-Lawyer directory to locate a personal injury attorney near you who can review what happened, determine how badly you were injured, and apply that information to the terms of the proposed settlement.
All the best to you,
